Before starting WAP Sustainability, William served as the Sustainability Manager for Mars, Inc. This experience exposed him to the broad nature of sustainability and the challenges of managing sustainability at an enterprise level. As a sustainability manager, he learned first hand how to prioritize sustainability issues, manage competing stakeholders, and generate budgets for sustainability projects.

William’s experience as a sustainability manager lead him to create a consulting firm that provided sustainability leaders and company leaders a one-stop-shop.

As managing director, William is responsible for day to day management, business development, strategic partnerships and client delivery. His straight forward approach to sustainability offers business leaders a pragmatic, unbiased, third-party opinion that is designed to broaden and accelerate sustainability initiatives.

William has worked with a variety of Fortune 500 companies, federal agencies, local governments and non-profits, including leaders in the consumer and building products industries.

His expertise is focused on helping organizations navigate sustainability in a coordinated and prioritized manner using key sustainability metrics.

William teaches graduate courses on Sustainable Enterprise at Lipscomb University’s Institute for Sustainable Practice. He also serves on the Board of the Climate Adaptation focused organization The Model Forest Policy Program.

William was born and raised in Ohio and a graduated from of the University of Alabama. In his spare time, William is an avid sportsman hunting deer, turkey, waterfowl and chasing fish in the Gulf of Mexico.
